Imports from Russia. Understand the impacts.

According to federal government data up to January 2022, the value of imports and exports between Brazil and Russia was 529 million and 232 million dollars respectively. The annual comparison of the volume of imports shows a growth of almost 108% between 2021 and 2020, and of imports an increase of approximately 4%, when comparing the same period.

Even though the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is far away geographically, the consequences of the war have made products such as oil and gas, as well as foodstuffs such as wheat and corn, more expensive in Brazil.

It is also worth highlighting potassium chloride and urea, which are very important components for the production of other products, such as fertilizers.
