Essential Documents for Exporters - Packing List and Commercial Invoice

The packing list and commercial invoice are fundamental documents in an exporter's routine. That's why it's essential to master their procedures and main functions.

🔵 The Commercial Invoice is the document that contains all the commercial terms and conditions for carrying out an international purchase/sale, and is considered a contract between buyer and seller. In a way, it resembles an invoice and contains information such as: buyer, seller, goods traded, quantity, unit value, total, payment method, Incoterm to be used, guarantee conditions, NCM and others.

🔵 The Packing List is the document that contains details of how the goods on the Commercial Invoice are packaged, taking into account: type of volume, net and gross weight, size of each one and the total, among others. Both documents are complementary and obligatory for a transaction to be carried out correctly, from a commercial quotation to the actual shipment.
